Elven Tale, part two

prologue


Lheora Yhanni stands upon the beach and casts the spell of summoning.

Some time later, Ani'ca L'key answers the summons.

"Lheora Yhanni," she begins, pulling herself onto the rocks, "when you said I would see you in a few years, I did not expect sixty years to pass!"

"I was busy," replies Lheora Yhanni.

"I haven't heard anything of you, since you left here!"

"Obviously you have been looking in the wrong places."

"Really? Do tell..."

"I have lived another life entirely, which is why you have not heard of my birthname."

"And now you've come to share the Tale?" asks the Dhija maid eagerly.

"Indeed I have, I found last time that talking helps me understand things, though humans will, I think, remain beyond my ability to comprehend."

"You have been living among humans?"

"Yes, since half a year after I left."

"Surely I would have heard of your presence, your appearance is not exactly common."

"No," agrees Lheora Yhanni, with a knowing smile, "indeed I found it much easier to travel as a human."

"Which is why we couldn't find you!"

"Exactly."

"So who were you?"

"So impatient," chides Lheora Yhanni. "We shall start at the beginning, I think."

"As you wish," agrees Ani'ca. "The beginning, it is..."
